March came in like a Lion in my world. I’m cruising along working on my music and gigs, taking care of my family and household. When BAM – a part time job appears that’s close to my house, fits neatly into my available dad hours and it’s in the music industry. So, apologies true believers for being late with the Bates Update but I’m now working at My Music Store in Golden Valley three days a week. I’m very excited for this opportunity for all sorts of reasons but it’s going to pose a few logistical problems as I work to add this to my schedule and keep the momentum going with music. To that end, this edition of the Bates Update will take us through the end of April to give me time to get organized and we’ll hopefully be returning to the monthly update starting in May. Prairie City Limits is the fundraiser for the Band Dept. at EPHS. We’ll be debuting new small group and big band arrangements of Red 5 classics. More info in April as it becomes available.

4/26 – 5/2 – Adam Meckler Quintet tour. I’ll be hitting the road with Adam, Joe Mayo, Zacc Harris and Greg Schutte. We’ll be playing venues in Milwaukee, Chicago, Boston and New York. More on this as it fills in.
